Tollywood’s Fresh Blood Making Noise

Venky Atluri’s ‘Majnu’ with Akhil, Venky Kudumula’s movie with Nithin and Prashanth Varma’s ‘Kalki’ with senior actor Rajasekhar all the three films have a thing in common. They are all the second films for the respective directors who made their debut into Tollywood in 2018 with ‘Tholi Prema’, ‘Chalo’ and ‘Awe’ respectively.

Out of the three 2018 entrants, Venky Atluri had got a good attention because of Akhil’s track record and if the director delivers another hit, he will be the hot cake in the industry for the A-listers, even. It’s the same with Venky Kudumula who can give a respite to Nithin who is reeling under flops. Prashanth Varma has a challenging job in hand with senior hero Rajasekhar as his debut ‘Awe’ was made with an out-of-the-box theme. Will he deliver another out-of-the-box film, again?

Besides the above-mentioned trio, Tollywood saw the entry of three more promising directors who impressed big time with their debut movies. Ajay Bhoopathi with ‘Rx 100’ scored a surprise blockbuster. Rahul Ravindran gave a decent film ‘Chi La Sow’ and Venkatesh Maha surprised with the analogy ‘C/o Kancherapalem’ with his nuances of film making with totally unknown faces. The second film of these trio are yet to go on to the sets. Let’s see what 2019 has got in store for them.
