Remakes Quota Almost Over Except One Compound

This week’s release Butta Bomma was the remake of Malayalam hit Kappela. The film has turned out to be a washout at the box office. Despite all the promotions, the audience just didn’t turn up at the theaters.

The remake factor and slow narration worked against the film and also the zero star-value added to its woes. The makers had approached Vishwak Sen and Sidhhu Jonnalagadda to play the negative role in the film, but they refused. If they had accepted, Butta Bomma’s fate would have been definitely better.

With the failure of Butta Bomma, the quota of remakes in Tollywood is almost finished. Only Mega heroes are still doing remakes of other language films.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar, Pawan Kalyan’s Vinodaya Sitham Remake, and Theri remake are the only remake projects (officially announced) coming up in the Tollywood industry.

We hope after these films are released, even heroes from the Mega Compound avoid making remakes and concentrate on creating original and exciting content.
