U.S. BO: Godfather Ends With A Weak Show!

A lot was at stake with Godfather, given that Chiranjeevi’s previous film, Acharya failed to even touch the $1 million mark in the USA. But Godfather simply couldn’t set the box office on fire even with the positive word of mouth.

In the USA market, Godfather collected $1.26 million till now. It might close with $1.3 million. The only solace here is that it touched the $1 million mark.

Those involved with the USA distribution of Godfather say it’s an own release so there’s no such thing as a breakeven mark for the film. But given the word of mouth, the Chiranjeevi starrer had clearly underperformed both domestically and overseas.

Godfather will end the USA run on a weak note with just around $1.3 million. It has performed slightly better than Acharya, but overall, it’s a relatively weak performer.

Chiranjeevi’s next release is Chiru154 directed by Bobby. It is an original film and it is scheduled for release next Sankranthi. Can it do any better at the box office?
