U.S Premieres: Naresh Hoping For Another Naandhi

The Tollywood box office in the USA market has been running dry. Samantha’s Yashoda did fairly well by grossing $500K+ and that is about it. All other recent Telugu releases went crashing in the USA.

Now the focus is on Allari Naresh’s Itlu Maredumilli Prajaneekam which comes with the solo release advantage in the USA.

The USA premiere of the Allari Naresh starrer will start in a few hours. Being a rural social drama with a socially relevant plot, the film doesn’t have commercial appeal. So, it will have to rely almost entirely on word of mouth and early reviews.

The trailer looked decent, but it all comes down to the word of mouth. If it can bring a good name to Naresh and the makers, like the way Naandhi did, it can be considered a job well done, given the very restrictions in the theatrical market.

Naresh stated that IMP has a relevant message but it isn’t a preachy film. He seemed confident about the content. We will know in a few hours what the social drama has in store for us.
