Top director's caste reference on stage

Sukumar, the director popular for making intelligent films is also known for his simplicity and non controversial nature. But here comes a surprise from the most non controversial director. On stage, the film maker was seen taking reference to caste while speaking about character artist Hema, who did mother role for Sukumar’s upcoming debut production venture ‘Kumari 21 F’.

During the audio launch event of the film held in Hyderabad on Saturday evening, Sukumar said, “She is also Rajulammaayi, like us and we both come from the same village.” This obviously is the reference to his caste though he was talking about Hema. This surprised many who had been watching the programme live.

Anyway, given to his talent and good nature, no one might take it wrong or interpret in any other controversial way. Sukumar proved himself by the virtue of his talent. Hence this caste reference might a involuntary spill during the speech.
