Take the case of top Bollywood production house Yash Raj Films, they are suing popular singers and Navarathri mandals who are using songs from their films without taking their permission.
The Navarathri celebrations have been happening from time immemorial but this is the first time that such legal action has been taken by a production house for using their songs. If this is the way things are going to happen we might get to a stage where we might find it difficult to hear popular songs at such celebrations. Nothing on the production houses but wish they exhibited similar ethics when dealing with artists and their royalties.
