Toxic struggles again at box office

Toxic has emerged as a big disaster at the box office. Despite taking a huge opening, the numbers dropped due to a negative word-of-mouth in terms of the content and performances. The situation became worse in the normal days of the week.

The movie is now in the headlines for another reason. While it is already a flop now in all the versions in the first week, it has flopped for the second time in the same week.

As everyone knows, the English version of the film has arrived in the ongoing week in India. Although the makers were expecting that the luck will change for the film in some way, the movie witnessed something that does not happen in such big films.

While it got only four shows in 11 cities, only 450 tickets were sold throughout India. After flopping in the first week, Toxic has flopped in the second week too, where the box office collections did not witness any big boost.

The approx collections of the English version is reported to be around only Rs. 1.40 lakhs in India. Due to zero interest, the shows have been already reduced. The situation is the same in other languages too, with collections between Rs. 75-80 lakhs.

The Hindi version has collected only Rs. 130 crores so far and trade experts have said that it is going to be difficult for the film to surpass or touch even Rs. 150 crores. The current numbers are lower than the last film of Yash, K.G.F. Chapter 2.

Netizens reacted by saying that the efforts of the makers to impress the audiences with the English version is not useful anymore. They wrote that viewers have already lost interest in the film and Yash should now start searching for a better script instead of just considering grand visuals and action.

With Mirzapur already giving a tough competition and Haiwaan releasing next week, let’s wait and see how long Toxic will survive in the theatres.
