Two films from same source to be on sets soon?

This is an interesting development that is happening in Bollywood right now. Two films are soon going to be on sets and they both have a common source material. We are talking about the film Drishyam which is inspired by the novel The Devotion of Suspect X.

Rights of the novel are with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures banner and they announced a movie with Saif Ali Khan in the lead that will go onto sets early next year. At the same time Drishyam remake rights have been bagged by a top corporate company and they are keen to launch it soon with Ajay Devgn in the lead. Already lots of legal battles are being held that has garnered lots of attention to the novel as well as film, if these two get on sets and start shooting, it will be interesting to see how the audience react.
