U.S BO: Finally A $200 Million Opener?

The USA box office has been running rather dry with not many Hollywood biggies performing as per the high expectations. But finally the wait might be coming to an end with the arrival of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Wakanda Forever could well be the biggest Hollywood opening weekend grosser of the year, surpassing Doctor Strange: Multiverse Of Madness’s $187 million.

It is now estimated that Wakanda Forever could be collecting over $200 million globally in its opening weekend which will indeed be the biggest opening day number of the year. It will have a $80 million opening day at the box office.

The first part, Black Panther made $202 million and now the successor could be in for another $200 million+ opener.

The Rotten Tomatoes score for the first part was 96% and the second part, Wakanda Forever opened to 86%.

Hollywood didn’t have a single $200 million opener in 2022 and Wakanda Forever could well be the first film to do so. Also, the film faces no competition at leading multiplexes and big screens till Avatar: The Way Of Water which opens on 16 December.
