After RRR, there was a lot of emphasis on whether or not Jr NTR was actually able to crack the Hindi market. But with Devara, it has been established that he has indeed witnessed an increased footprint in the Hindi belt as the film is on course for Rs 100 crore nett run up north.
Coming to the point now, the unexpected decision from NTR came when he decided to do War 2. Though this looked like a rather jerky move at first, it is now turning out to be a good one.
NTR has already witnessed an increased market up north with Devara and this can only be pushed forward by War 2.
War 2 has a sequel advantage and it features superstar Hrithik Roshan. NTR doing this film would only boost his Hindi belt beyond his existing tropes. He can now be termed an asset for War 2 which in itself is a major upgrade.
If War 2 clicks and NTR’s market further expands, he will anyway have a minimum guarantee Prashanth Neel to work with which is hitting the floors soon.
All of a sudden, things are falling in place perfectly for NTR with regard to the Hindi belt. It is good to see a mass hero who was majorly focusing on mass belts all along his career go beyond that and scale such heights.
