Unexpected Pressure On Taxiwaala

Sometimes when one tries to escape pressure and get a quick fix, things turn on its head such a way that the entire pressure redirects on the one, making it front and centre. Such is the case with the movie Taxiwaala now.

The movie starring Vijay Deverakonda was initially supposed to be a summer release. When Mahanati was announced, the makers had thought of piggy riding on its success after all the biopic did not have Vijay Deverakonda in lead role. It still was going to benefit him immensely. But, even that did not happen as planned and the makers though to get Geetha Govindam in its place.

The idea of bringing Geetha Govindam has worked, and the movie is a sensational success. Unfortunately, the kind of massive success it has become has put unexpected pressure on Taxiwaala. The rise of stardom means the trade will be focussing on the different entertainer with keen interest. Its box office performance would be dissected by fans of all the stars and so on. It wouldn’t have been the case had the movie came on time. The lead doesn’t help the cause either.

It will be interesting to see how the makers, GA2 Pictures and UV Creations, handle Taxiwaala’s release. We have to see how much further details about Taxiwaala’s arrival are delayed.
