Telugu States lead in childless couples!

A recent survey conducted by New Delhi-based Gaudium Infertility Clinic (GIC) had revealed that erstwhile Andhra Pradesh leads the country with the highest number of childless couples. The state is even ahead of most populous states like Harayana and Uttar Pradesh in this aspect.

The reason for this is said to be the steep rise in premature ovarian failure (POF) and endometriosis cases in women in their 20s and 30s. These problems are causing infertility problems among women.

32% women from AP – and Hyderabad in particular suffered from endometriosis. The problem of low ovarian reserve among women, however, was found to be more critical. And a staggering 87.5% women below 35 years face POF which is due to less or no presence of eggs. The study was conducted on the patients who came to the infertility clinic.
