Unreasonable Hate Over Deepika’s Addition To the Oscars?

Deepika Padukone has been selected as one of the presenters at the 95th Oscars. She joins Riz Ahmed, Emily Blunt, Glenn Close, Dwayne Johnson, Troy Kotsur, Jennifer Connelly, Samuel L. Jackson, Zoe Saldana Donnie Yen, Melissa McCarthy, Jonathan Majors, and Questlove. The 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12 at Dolly Theatre, Los Angeles.

It is a proud moment not only for Deepika but also for India as she is the only Indian celebrity to be selected as the presenter. But some people are spewing hate on her selection.

Especially some people from the right wing have had an agenda against her since the days she visited the students who got hurt in JNU.

They were very happy that a Hindu-centric film like RRR was getting such huge acclaim and recognition at the Oscars. But their joy became short-lived after Deepika’s name was announced as the presenter.

SS Rajamouli recently silenced people who tried to relate his success to one particular religion. He said that country comes first for him and not any religion.

If RRR is making India proud, Deepika is also making the country proud in her own way. We must celebrate Deepika Padukone’s achievements as much as we celebrate RRR’s International success.

It will be a treat for every Indian to see Rajamouli, NTR, Ram Charan, and Deepika Padukone steal the limelight at the Oscars 2023.
