US state dept apprehensive about Hyd Security

US Bureau of Diplomatic Security’s (BDS) has warned its citizen visiting Hyderabad about the growing attacks on women and poor performance of the city police. The warning came in the wake of Kidnapping attempt on Nityananda Reddy, the Vice Chairman of Aurobindo Pharma and that too in a high profile area like KBR Park of Banjara Hills. Also nabbing of an international Terrorist couple of days ago in Hyderabad.

According to a report with US Bureau of Diplomatic Security, the city is becoming increasing unsafe for women with even foreign women facing verbal and physical harassment by groups of men.

And the report also says in most of times, irrespective of the crime severity, the response time of Hyderabad Police is 30 minutes or longer. More than 2 lakh foreign tourists and majority of them from the United States, visit Hyderabad every year.
