
What surprises many is the choice of noncommercial directors for Varun Tej’s first and second movie. Normally any new hero would choose films to make an impression, minimum guarantee stories with commercial directors. Ony after getting established reasonably, then an actor goes for noncommercial endeavors. But Varun Tej seems to be one maverick megahero who refuses to follow conventions.
In the cine field where there are always a dozen young heroes trying to make impression, it would be extremely difficult to establish after flops or average films. However Varun choice of directors has two obvious connotations. It might be either lack of directors (like Puri is not available being busy with Charmee’s film ‘Jyothi Lakshmi’) or else he wants to carve a niche for himself by choosing differently.
