Vennela Kishore’s Direction: Once Bitten, Twice Shy

Only a few of us know that there are a writer and director in Vennela Kishore who is famous for the subtle situational comedy, very natural with no artificiality or over the top. This kind of comedy is his strength and that’s why he has turned out to be a hot cake comedian, at present.

Very few know that he directed two movies aka ‘Vennela 1 1/2’ and ‘Jaffa’. Needless to say that many of us don’t even know if those movies came to the theatres or not. When asked about the direction in a recent interview, the comedian said that he won’t touch it even. But, one of his stories written in 2006 is taken up by Adivi Sesh who is making changes to the present.

The sensible comedian says no to offensive or double meaning comedy. Offensive and double meaning comedy are very common for most comedians but not for Vennela Kishore who says that he isn’t a stand-up comedian. He wants his lines from the writer or the director and he can improvise them further. The latest, his short role in ‘Chi La Sow’ was so good and very hilarious that fetched him big appreciation.
