Why Not Repeat Kantara In Telugu?

Kannada cinema gave South India a powerhouse talent Rishabh Shetty. His performance and direction in Kantara set a benchmark that continues to inspire filmmakers across languages.

Now, Telugu cinema is abuzz with talk about a film that could match that energy. The spotlight is on Yellamma, directed by Venu, the filmmaker behind Balagam. The project has been in development for a while, moving from Nani to Nithiin before taking its latest turn.

Reports now suggest that Devi Sri Prasad is stepping into acting with Yellamma. That in itself is a surprising and exciting twist for fans who’ve followed his music journey for years.

At the same time, many believe Venu should act in the film himself. He has the skill, the presence, and most importantly, a deep understanding of his own story. Few directors can match that level of insight.

If he chooses to both act and direct, Venu could deliver something raw and powerful just as Shetty did with Kantara. Still, the creative call is his to make. Whatever path he chooses, Venu has the talent to rely on himself completely.
