VD-Sukumar Film: A Closed Chapter?

A while back, it was announced that Vijay Deverakonda would be working with Sukumar for one of his upcoming projects. This project was announced with some fanfare and it did catch the attention as the combination of Vijay D and Sukumar looked enticing.

But the equations changed upside down after Sukumar delivered a pan-Indian hit with Pushpa. He then lined up Pushpa 2 and is next set to work with Ram Charan for a to-be-announced project. We are hearing from reliable sources that Sukumar will be occupied with Pushpa 3 once Charan’s film is done.

While Sukumar’s film with Vijay looked a bit ambitious at first, the chances of it happening now are nearly negligible.

A tier-1 director working with a non-tier-1 hero is out of the equation these days in Tollywood as these elite directors have their slates full already. In the case of Sukumar, he has other films with tier-1 stars and him coming down a step to work with a non-tier-1 hero, in this case, VD, is not likely.

With all these combinations of Sukumar with star heroes and his increasing demand, the film with Vijay Deverakonda is as good as a closed chapter.
