Vijay’s GOAT BO: Unexpected All-Time Disaster

Vijay’s film The GOAT was released on September 5, 2024, but received extremely mixed reactions from critics and audiences. It has faced significant losses, especially in the Telugu states and Kerala, due to poor ticket sales.

In Kerala, which is typically a strong market for Vijay, the film grossed only 13.5 crores and has completed its run, marking a major embarrassment for Vijay in the region, as it has been labeled as an all-time disaster in Kerala.

In Telugu also, GOAT turned out to be an unmitigated disaster with huge losses to buyers with less than 6 crore distributor share.

According to Bollywood trade experts, in 24 days, The GOAT earned about 295 crores in India. Here’s the breakdown:
Tamil Nadu: 217 crores
Andhra Pradesh & Telangana: 13 crores
Karnataka: 27 crores
Kerala: 13.5 crores
Rest of India: 25 crores

The film might barely reach 300 crores in India. Globally, The GOAT has collected 450 crores in 23 days but will not be able to cross the 500-crore mark, falling short of expectations.

Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT has underperformed overall.
