Viral Video: Producer Caught On Camera Admitting Fake Collections

Several dignitaries from the Telugu film industry met AP Minister Perni Nani this morning. Led by Film Development Corporation, the conference was attended by prominent producers Dil Raju, DVV Danayya, C. Kalyan, distributors, and theater owners. It seems that a decision will be made at this meeting on the issue of online tickets.

Meanwhile, a few videos of this meeting have got leaked on social media. One of the videos has Producer C Kalyan addressing Minister Perni Nani C Kalyan tries to pacify the minister who pointed out a mismatch between Tax Revenues and Box Office Numbers. But the video has become an embarrassment to the entire industry.

“We put 200 Crore and 500 Crore on posters just to cheat people. We create a sense of urgency in the people that they are missing a hit film. But yes, there are some films which do well. For example, Jathi Ratnalu is a big hit and minted good money. I don’t say there are mistakes but not everything is flawed,” C. Kalyan is seen saying.

This explanation video is going viral on social media with people mocking the industry for fake collections. But then, this is necessary because the Minister has quoted about these bloated collections and barely any tax revenue to the Government in an earlier Pressmeet. One would wonder how the videos of an official meeting got leaked on social media.
