Vishwak Sen's Cult
Vishwak Sen has been promising a slasher action film with his upcoming release, Cult, scheduled for 30th October. Produced by Sandeep Kakarala, the movie has completed censor formalities with an “A” certification and a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The film is expected to feature intense action sequences.
Attempting a relatively new genre for Indian cinema, the actor-writer-director has focused on presenting violent action without toning down its intensity. The film has also reportedly received several cuts and mutes from censor officials.
The film’s violent content is expected to be a major part of its narrative, placing audiences in situations similar to those faced by the characters. Vishwak’s writing and action design appear to focus on maintaining the intensity of the slasher genre.
The film reflects his attempt to explore a different style of action filmmaking. Ravi Basrur’s background music and score have reportedly received positive feedback, with his work contributing to the film’s atmosphere. Early reports suggest that Cult could offer a different approach to action films in Indian cinema.
