M9 News Journalist Nishant sat with Director Ajay Bhupathi ahead of his November 17th release, Mangalavaaram starring Payal Rajput. He shared how he did not feel ‘Mangalavaaram’ will be anti-sentiment for his film and how relevant the title is for the movie.

He also told how he had to screen around 40 girls for the role and mother of Delhi girl was so upset about being offered such role. “I can not complain because they do not understand. Payal has understanding of my work with RX100. So, she immediately came on board and she has fit perfectly for the role,” he told.

M9 News quizzed him about his controversial social media post where he called a star hero as ‘Cheap Star’. We also asked him about having an issue with a hero who is always late to the sets of his previous film, Mahasamudram.

He also refuted the speculations that the movie is a freemake of a Telugu film and is heavily inspired by Kantara. “We have Jathara songs in every village. This is a proper thriller which will keep you at the edge of the seats with so many twists. Particularly, the last 15 minutes will be very impactful,” he told.

He also opened up about his inspiration, Ram Gopal Varma. “He is a legend having made so many classics. Nobody can deny that. I do not like his recent films just how you do not like. In fact, I do not watch his films these days,” he said. He also refused to comment on the statement that RGV is doing political films for money.

He also responded to the allegation that a producer sent him to narrate a story to Dhanush but he messed it up saying another producer’s name. “That is bullshit. The producer claimed my script when I myself went directly to Dhanush. It is nothing but Producer’s efficiency that he could not push the project. A hero will have several calculations doing a film for a producer,” Ajay Bhupathi said.
