Why Dhanush came with ‘Pandem Kollu’ now?

Today, Dhanush emerged as the only South Indian hero who could cross the South-North barrier in the Film Industry and successfully get established as pan-Indian star. Alongside ‘Ladies And Gentlemen’, his dubbing movie ‘Pandem Kollu’, the original of Tamil film ‘Aadukaalam’ hit theatres this Friday.

‘Aadukaalam’ is a 2011 award winning film which was much acclaimed for the sheer content and natural performances by the actors. Dhanush’s performance won him best actor award. After four years, Telugu audiences could get to see the award winning performance of the actor. It’s because of ‘Raghuvaran B Tech’ (VIP in Tamil).

Before ‘Raghuvaran B Tech’, Dhanush was almost an unknown face for Tollywood’s audiences. Hence no producer could dare to dub an award winning film which might seem like an art film. Post ‘VIP’s success, Dhanush got a good platform to experiment his kind of films in TFI. ‘Pandem Kollu’ surely unveiled the actor’s capabilities for Telugu audience though the film’s reach might be limited as Tamil nativity and flavour is a bit disturbing for Telugus.
