Why Is Anirudh Under Pressure After Peddi’s Chikiri?

After the first single Chikiri Chikiri from Peddi became a chartbuster, all eyes have now turned toward Anirudh Ravichander and his music for Nani’s upcoming film The Paradise.

The reason is simple. The Paradise is releasing just one day before Peddi. Though it is too early to say whether the two films will clash, both teams are firmly holding on to their announced release dates and promoting them aggressively. For now, the competition is very much on.

AR Rahman has already silenced doubts about Peddi’s music with an extremely catchy tune that made fans very happy. Now the responsibility falls on Anirudh to deliver something equally impactful. However, there are a few important points to note behind the scenes.

According to inside reports, Anirudh has not yet submitted the songs for The Paradise. Director Srikanth Odela is currently focusing on completing the talkie portions of the film. Once that is done, the team plans to sit with Anirudh next month for final music sittings.

But scheduling has become a big headache. Anirudh is flooded with commitments. He is simultaneously working on Love Insurance Kompany and Jana Nayakudu, both of which are in the final re-recording stages. With those release deadlines closing in, the pressure on him is intense. The key question now is how much time he can devote to The Paradise, and whether the quality of music can meet audience expectations.

Even if the songs are completed quickly, the next big hurdle will be filming them. Within the next 140 days, the team must wrap up both the shoot and the re-recording work. This is a big challenge for Srikanth Odela and Nani.

Meanwhile, Peddi too has about 40 percent of its shoot left, but director Buchi Babu is in a much more comfortable position. He had already recorded all the songs in advance with A. R. Rahman. Reports say that Rahman has also locked a slot in February to work exclusively on the background score.

That means Peddi is well-prepared, while The Paradise still has some catching up to do. Anirudh now has to bring back his vintage energy and create music that matches or even surpasses Peddi. Fans are expecting Anirudh to deliver an album that will stand strong in this high-profile box office clash. If Anirudh delivers one of his best, then the Peddi versus The Paradise musical battle will be one of the most exciting clashes of 2026.
