Why Media Is Hyping 2.0 Over Baahubali 2?

It’s been just a couple of days since the first look launch of 2.0 and there is already a narrative build in national media which says 2.0 is the real deal over Baahubali, when it comes to taking Indian cinema to Hollywood level. Here we are not talking about which film has the team to achieve it or comparing the two, it is simply about the perception created by the media which leads to hype on a film.

The gap in films and Baahubali being the recent release put all the hype on it as far being the poster of Indian cinema to the world is concerned. It made big news and Baahubali was riding on the wave in spite of the announcement of 2.0. The phenomenonal success of Baahubali put it ahead of 2.0 all this while, till the first look was launched.

Now, post the launch of first look, one can see two camps building in South India, one belonging to Baahubali and the other that of 2.0. The question now is simply who makes it big in the North India and that is what both the teams are doing now.

2.0 at the moment has hit a sixer when it comes to the perception battle. Presence of bigger stars and popular team has done the trick. When a star like Rajinikanth says his film is going to be first true blue Hollywood movie coming out of India, people pay attention to it. The competition and comparison is going to intensify further as both movies are hitting the screens in same year,next year. All we have got to say is, let the madness begin.
