Why Vijayamma may lose in Vishakapatnam?

In general whenever a political celebrity makes his/her debut, it should be a cakewalk win. But that does not seem to be true these days. Last time Chiranjeevi lost from his home turf, Palakollu and some sources predict the same result for YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s wife, YS Vijayamma. There are total 10.3 Lakh votes polled in Vishakapatnam Parliament position.

YSR Congress is banking on their strong rural segment to win this LS seat but this time more number of votes were polled in the urban areas of the city like Gajuwaka, Vizag East, Vizag West, S Kota Vizag South and Bheemili where Modi’s mania and the pro-development campaign of TDP-BJP combine is expected to work more. Experts say Vijayamma should get nothing less than 5.8 Lakh votes to register a win here. There are 5.5 Lakh Rural votes on which YSRCP is banking mostly. And there will be a split of votes for TDP as well, the extent of dent here will decide the Vijayamma’s chances.

YSR Congress leaders in the region are expecting Vijayamma to steal a slender win by 70000 votes. They even have no inhibitions to accept this seat may have been lost if TDP would have contested from here. They are hoping that TDP’s votes did not transfer well to BJP.
