Will Anushka ‘Silence’ Critics Of Female-Centric Movies?

Two female-centric Bollywood movies came to the theatres near us, one after the other. Deepika Padukone’s ‘Chhapaak’ has collected Rs. 4.25 crores on opening day and Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Panga’ collected Rs. 2 crores.

Both Deepika and Kangana are big names in the industry and they are now on the top of their game. Kangana’s ‘Panga’ got good reviews and critics lauded her performance but has failed to draw big crowds to the theatres.

Coming to Deepika’s ‘Chhapaak’, it failed to create interest among the audiences and get a good opening. Now, what? We have Anushka Shetty’s ‘Nishabdam’ in Telugu, the actress who proved that she can pull crowds to her women-centric films.

‘Nishabdam’ is the next female-centric movie and it’s a known thing how Anushka’s stardom helped ‘Bhagamathie’ big time. Can she do it again and silence the critics on female-centric movies not able to draw big crowds?
