Will comedy bail out Gopichand?

Gopichand made his debut with a film that practically none remembers now. What many remember is that he was first noticed as a villain and then transformed himself into a hero with good box office potential. At one point in his career the actor saw back to back hits which also involved debut movie Srivas, director of Loukyam, and it looked like in few years time he would be a serious competitor at box office. Unfortunately things didn’t pan out that way and Gopichand has been completely lost as a box office crowd puller since then.

After many failed attempts at comeback, he tried a family movie with Krishna Vamsi, a different attempt with Chandrasekhar Yeleti, the actor has now got a very potent combination in his hand that of Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan. The writer duo is currently the most successful one in the industry and they have given hits to many stars as well as non stars. Now they are using their success formula to give Gopichand the break he is looking for.

But is it too late in the day? Today people are feeling an overdose of this formula and are rejecting movies that are even half good. To make a movie like Loukyam at this point of time and release it amidst biggies might prove to be an unexpected set back. This is an issue that is worrying the trade as well as hero even though they all seem to be confident on outside. Will the same comedy entertainer format with Brahmanandam at the center work once again? Will Gopichand get the much needed success that he is so desperately looking for? What do you think?
