Will He Be The Saving Grace For This Remake?

That Bellamkonda Sreenivas is starring in the remake of Dhanush’s Karnan is old news. That the idea of the remake is getting panned is also not new. The latest is talented character actor Rao Ramesh being part of it. It has led to a bigger talk, will he be the saving grace?

Karnan is a critically acclaimed and commercially successful drama starring Dhanush in the lead. The actor has done a terrific job, which he delivered as expected. However, the rest of the casting, too, has come under immense praise for the movie.

In the Telugu remake, the choice of Bellamkonda Sreenivas is already getting scathing reception. The idea of remaking a successful film is fine. More so, considering that the actor scored a decent success lately through such an effort. But, remaking a thriller and drama is different.

Not many remember now, but Bellamkonda Sreenivas has similarly done a remake at the start of his career. His second outing Speedunnodu was a remake of a rustic Tamil drama. It sank without a trace at the box office. The Karnan remake choice also feels the same.

Only an extraordinary all-around casting could turn out to be its saving grace in Telugu. The choice of Rao Ramesh for Lal’s role is a positive step in that regard. We have to see how the rest of the casting goes.
