Winner: “Fear Song” vs. “Pushpa” vs. “Jaragandi”

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, NTR’s Devara, and Ram Charan’s Game Changer are the much-talked-about pan-India films starring three of the biggest Telugu stars. These films are currently in production, and the first singles from each movie have been released.

Jaragandi from Ram Charan’s Game Changer was the first one to release which was choreographed by Prabhu Deva and shot on a grand set by director Shankar.

Despite the high production values, the romantic peppy number didn’t impress audiences, with both the song composition and choreography falling short. The song was just another run-of-the-mill kinda song.

Next, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa Pushpa song came out. It was well-received for its catchy tune and Allu Arjun’s energetic dance moves, which added significant appeal. However, the outdated lyrics turned out to be a bit turn off, making it a decent but not exceptional introduction song.

Yesterday, NTR’s Fear Song was released and garnered a positive reception. Although there was a lot of hype comparing it to Jailer’s Hukum, which was tough to match on the first day of its release, the song showed promise.

The downside is that the song sounds too similar to Leo’s “Badass,” with lyrics overshadowed by the music and vocals, and lacking a recall hook.

The true impact of Fear Song will be known in a few days.

Overall, while Pushpa Pushpa is a decent song, Anirudh’s techno composition for Fear Song stands out with its fresh tunes and modern instrumentals that resonate well with today’s young audience.

Based on initial reactions, Fear Song edges out Pushpa Pushpa and is significantly better received than Thaman’s Jaragandi.

In this first round, Anirudh emerges as the clear winner, even though it is not an outright ‘original’ chartbuster. However, DSP’s efforts are not far behind.
