PS Mithran opens up on Yash project
Karthi’s long-pending project Sardar 2 directed by PS Mithran, is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on September 10th. With only a few days left until the release, the Sardar 2 team is now doing round the clock promotions for the film through interviews and participating in events.
In one such interview, director PS Mithran opened up about his project with Yash, which didn’t materialize and it is now going viral on social media.
PS Mithran stated that the story he narrated to Yash is his most ambitious project. He claimed it’s an adventure story like Indiana Jones, with a strong emotional core. It’s truly his dream project and he felt it would be amazing if it happened. However, he mentioned that due to timeline issues, it didn’t move to the next stage with Yash.
Meanwhile, in another interview, he revealed which star actors he has already narrated scripts to, sharing that he narrated stories to Chiranjeevi and Suriya, but those didn’t happen either.
Also, he claimed that he narrated a script to Rajinikanth sir after the Annaatthe release. Reportedly, he just narrated a 30-minute subject to Rajini and after the narration, Rajini separated the film into 12 to 14 reels. Furthermore, Rajini told him that the film didn’t work after the 10th reel.
However, in response to the exciting news about PS Mithran‘s shelved project with Yash, while some people claim that Yash missed a solid project and suggest that if Yash had done it, it would have been an iconic film in his career, claiming that PS Mithran is a good director who proved his potential in Sardar and Irumbu Thirai, others are sharing negative responses.
They feel that even though PS Mithran is a good director, he still hasn’t delivered any pan-Indian projects, which is why Yash might have skipped doing a film with him. They feel that Yash might be looking for a proven director rather than an offbeat director.
Ultimately, it seems like PS Mithran has narrated scripts to most of the big stars in South India and all of them might be waiting for the results of Sardar 2 before greenlighting a project with him.
Therefore, it remains to be seen whether Sardar 2 will emerge as a successful venture, leading PS Mithran to collaborate with big stars for a pan-Indian film in the future.
