Young Film maker dies shooting in freezing weather

A young film maker from the Malayalam Film Industry, Sajan Kurian died given to the extreme cold conditions in Ladakh. The 33-year old director was in Ladakh shooting for his upcoming film ‘Bibleo’, a psychological fantasy thriller. During his stay in Ladakh, the film maker developed uneasiness due to extreme cold weather.

The weather was like minus 24 degrees and under the freezing conditions, the director could not be saved even though he was taken to hospital. He passed away in hospital. Sajan Kurian is known as Sajan Samaya in the industry and he made his debut with ‘The Last Vision’, made from a short story he wrote himself.

Though Sajan made some films only one film ‘Dancing Death’ made it to theatres and his movies are primarily made from the stories he wrote himself. Even the movie he was shooting for in Ladakh is based upon the book ‘Bibleo’ he wrote. His untimely death in freezing conditions shows how some film makers take risk to fulfill their passion of film making. His body will be flown to Delhi and then to Cochin on Wednesday.
