The incident occurred when Khanna drove through a red light, striking the boys crossing the road with a green pedestrian signal. Emergency services responded quickly, and the injured children received medical attention, with their conditions reported as non-life-threatening.

Khanna was apprehended approximately 30 minutes later in a nearby suburb. During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Khanna, who had recently moved to Sydney, was studying for a Bachelor of IT degree at Macquarie University.

Despite the serious allegations, the magistrate granted him bail, considering his age and clean criminal record. Bail conditions included surrendering his passport and driver’s license, daily reporting to the police station, and confinement to his residence.

Khanna faces multiple charges, including dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, and failing to stop and assist after the collision. His car has been confiscated for analysis, and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 8.
