Ajay’s 50 Cr Shock: Can Salman Khan & Akshay Catch Up?

Drishyam: The Conclusion is expected to emerge as the biggest opener of Ajay Devgn’s career. Ticket sales have been pretty good, with pre-sales numbers touching the mark of 2.50 lakhs at national multiplex chains. A bigger rise is expected as one day is left until release.

The movie has created headlines ever since the first teaser was released. The hype took a different turn when it was announced that the upcoming sequel will shut down the case file of Vijay Salgaonkar permanently, and everyone is now waiting to see how Vijay will save his family.

Trade experts are already predicting an opening of Rs. 50 crores at the box office. But now this has raised the pressure on other actors who have been active in the film industry for a long time, yet have failed to take such a good start for any of their big movies.

Meanwhile, this has turned out to be a challenge for two actors, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. This is because other big names have already given an opening of Rs. 50 crores, including Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Aamir Khan.

The current trend for Drishyam: The Conclusion has also left trade experts shocked, as they never expected Ajay to take a Rs. 50 crore opening before Salman Khan.

As of now, netizens believe that Akshay has lost his potential to take such a big opening anymore. This is because the actor has a record of starting at only Rs. 30 crore. A few social media users stated that a figure of Rs. 50 crores is possible for Akshay only if he returns to the big screen with a big film after a long gap of two or three years, which he is not expected to do.

On the other hand, questions are being raised about whether Salman can do it with his next movie, directed by Vamshi Paidipally and reportedly titled Monster.

Trade experts said that while Salman has a genuine fan base in India, his bad choices of scripts have now ended the excitement among those people to watch his films anymore. However, the experts stated that Salman can still build trust among the masses if the trailer, story, and music click with the audience.

Monster has already locked its release date for Eid 2027. Fans are frequently requesting the makers to bring some promotional assets and build some buzz for the film. Let’s see if Salman will break records through some miracle this time and return to the position where he used to sit a few years ago.
