Centre follows mandate of AP Capital Construction

The Central government will be releasing 2000 Crore for the construction of the state capital of Andhra Pradesh. This 2000 Crore is the first phase installment from the center. Union Finance Ministry is giving 1000 Crore and Union Urban Development ministry is giving another 1000 Crore.

These funds will be released in next month. Government is likely to make this announcement in the Budget that will be tabled on February 28th. It is said that there are 1800 Crore of unspent amount in Urban Development Ministry under JNNRUM scheme. The funds can not be spent in the remaining one month of this year.

So the Ministry is planning to divert 800 Crore for Swachch Bharat and 1000 Crore for AP Capital. We have learnt that the state government is already informed about this. It is known that the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act mandated that the Center will bear the total expense of the state capital construction. This 2000 Crore will have to meet the expenses of the compensation of farmers under land pooling and the land acquisition expenses if any. And then there is the construction starting in the second half of the year.
