TDP has become a part and parcel of Telugu people ever since NT Ramarao announced the party same day forty one years ago.

TDP has earned the distinction of the only party to come to power in just nine months after its announcement and since then, there is no looking back despite many ups and downs.

NT Ramarao has become a synonym of Poor-centric politics and social justice. The abolishment of Patel – Patwari system, equal property rights to women, reservations for BCs in local bodies, and introduction of schemes like 2 Rupees Kilo Rice, NTR made an indelible mark on Telugu Politics.

NTR’s ideals and schemes are relevant even today that defines his impact on Telugu Politics.

Telugu Desam Party under Chandrababu Naidu took another turn which kept the party appropriate to changing times and culture. Naidu was the first to embrace Technology in Andhra Pradesh and ushered the IT revolution.

As a result, Microsoft opened its first campus out of America in Hyderabad and that ushered Hyderabad a prominent landmark on the World map. Today, many families have someone working in IT and that uplifted those families.

The vision changed the landscape of Hyderabad forever and paved way to make the city a infrastructure hub and also, a growth engine. And with those efforts, A predominantly agriculture based state has become a breeding ground for country’s best minds and entrepreneurship.

Chandrababu tried to replicate a similar model in Amaravati and stirred a sensation by executing World’s biggest landpooling and an extraordinary Master plan.

However, the old problem of failure to strike a balance between politics and development came back to hurt Naidu once again. Like 2004, 2019 is an opportunity lost to continue the continuity of progress and development.

But then, it is always the case with TDP that it rises from ashes like a Phoenix whenever there is a crisis and people start brushing it off. The rise has started with the recent MLC elections and TDP leaders are bustling with energy to replicate another stunning comeback.
