It’s been eight months since this new government came into power.
Among many things that went right for the Government, Vishakapatnam MP Mathukumilli Bharat seems to be the big beneficiary.
In the last five years, the then Jagan Government made tall claims of making Vizag as the Executive Capital but not even a brick was laid.
We have seen Jagan destroy the Rushikonda Hill for a Palace for his wife and there are massive allegations of land grabbing.
But the last eight months have been eventful.
The new government is focused on making Vishakapatnam an IT destination. In two months, TCS will begin operations in the Millennium Towers and the land scouting is on for the permanent campus.
Another IT Major, Cognizant is also coming to Vishakapatnam.
The biggest success for Vishakapatnam is the Central Government’s Bailout package for Vizag Steel Plant.
The 11,000+ Crore Bailout Package means the Center has dropped the Privatization idea for now.
Today, the Center agreed to change the boundaries of the South Central Railway Zone (Vishakapatnam Railway Zone).
Parts of the Waltair Division which are in Andhra are added to the Vizag Railway Zone. Until now, these parts are in the East Coast Railway Zone. The long-standing demand of the people of Vishakapatnam is now met with this announcement.
Steel Plant and Railway Zone are major victories of this Government and naturally, the local MP Bharat will enjoy the fruits.
Bhogapuram Airport will also usher the development in Vishakapatnam.
If more companies come to the city in the next four years, the outlook of the city will be completely changed. Bharat will cement his place in the Political landscape of the city and YSR Congress will plummet further from its present position.
