9th Boy, Inter Girl Become Parents: Minor Crisis

A disturbing event happened in a village in Wanaparthy mandal. A boy of ninth standard and an inter student fell in love and got physically intimate many times. This led to girl’s pregnancy.

After finding out, the girl’s parents filed a complaint with the police. Since both are minors, the police did not know what to do. Meanwhile, on November 14, the girl gave birth to a baby.

Not knowing what to do, a panchayat was held in the village. The boy’s parents made it clear they had nothing to do with the baby. The police filed a case, but did not take action. The parents of the girl approached the SP.

They said that a DNA test of the child must be done and justice be meted out. The issue has become a topic of hot discussion in the district.

The case has left the local police in a dilemma as both the parties involved are minors. Social experts remind that sex education must be imparted in schools so that kids are aware of various consequences. Awareness is a must they say at a time when media has an overdose of adult content.
