Accused in Jagan’s Cases in Race for RS Berth from YSRCP?

The Election to 55 Rajya Sabha seats in 17 states will be held on March 26th. Four Seats are falling vacant in Andhra Pradesh. YSR Congress which has a brutal majority in AP Assembly is likely to bag all the four seats while TDP will lose one as one of its sitting MPs is retiring.

On the other side, there is a huge competition in the YSR Congress for these nominations. Pilli Subash Chandrabose and Mopidevi Venkata Ramana who will lose their cabinet berths due to the abolition of the council are fancying their chances.

According to a report in a web media run by former TV9 CEO, Raviprakash, famous industrialist, Ayodhya Ram Reddy is the frontrunner for one of the Upper House Berths. Ayodhya Ram Reddy heads the infrastructure entity Ramky group is one of the accused in the ED cases registered against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

ED alleged that Ramky Pharma City had illegally benefited to the tune of Rs 133.74 crore by selling land falling under green belt area and invested Rs 10 crore in Jagati Publications. The Enforcement Directorate even attached Ramky’s 135 Crore assets way back in 2013. Jagan reportedly has his sympathies for Ayodhya Ram Reddy and wanted to compensate for it with this Rajya Sabha Berth.
