Amalapuram Parliament Turns Tricky For YSRCP

Former MP GV Harshakumar remained uncertain after the bifurcation. He joined YSR Congress just before the elections and later immediately quit and drifted towards TDP at the eleventh hour. Both the parties denied him ticket in 2019.

Later he came back to Congress and recently rejected a PCC post offered by the High Command.

In the wake of this, YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Pilli Subash Chandrabose met the former MP at his residence. Bose did not speak to the media after the meeting.

This spark speculations that GV Harshakumar may get Amalapuram MP ticket from YSR Congress in 2024. Harshakumar has remained tight-lipped on this development.

Late GMC Balayogi’s son, Harish is TDP’s candidate here. He lost in 2019 with a slender margin. Janasena also has strong presence here. So, YSR Congress is working on a strong candidate here.

Harshakumar has a section of voters here supporting him. That along with YSRCP’s traditional votebank will be handy, Jagan feels.

If TDP and Janasena join hands here, it will be pretty much Gameover for YSR Congress here. But if they contest independently, YSRCP will fancy its chances banking on the votes split.
