The state of Andhra Pradesh final cemented its future with regard to the capital as the Rajya Sabha approved the earlier resolution that was passed in the parliament that would declare Amaravati as the permanent capital.
While all of India supported this legislation of Amaravati out of good spirit and the positive desire to have a solid capital to Andhra, it was YSR Congress, which showed against it.
This was pointed out by the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu today as he said all the major leading parties in the country supported Amaravati, but YCP stood against.
“At a time when all the leading parties in India rightfully supported Amaravati, only YCP MPs who polled their votes here and won with support of AP people clearly stood against AP’s wishes. They tried to obstruct AP’s development right in the parliament by opposing Amaravati.” Chandrababu pointed out.
The shocking factor here is that YSR Congress is the only party in the Parliament and Rajya Sabha to oppose the Amaravati resolution, and this speaks a lot about the intent that the party has towards the state. On top of opposing the resolution, YCP further humiliated it by walking out of the house as a token of protest while the bill was being presented.
