MAVIGUN Vs Ayodhya: YSRCP Losing It Completely?

Perni Nani on Amaravati row

Andhra Pradesh completed a historic and politically vital feat recently by officially declaring Amaravati has the capital of the state. This resolution was passed by the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and the President and the official gazette was released last week.

While the government of Andhra Pradesh is fully committed to development of Amaravati and bringing social infrastructure development, the opposition YSRCP is going in the opposite track.

This reached a new phenomenal height today as YSRCP senior Perni Nani came in front of the press and had a series of wildly misleading comments to make.

“This Amaravati is a waste of time and resources. Don’t rub this useless prospect on the people of Andhra Pradesh. Chandrababu must immediately declare MAVIGUN as AP capital. The region between Machilipatnam, Vijayawada and Guntur is the future of AP and Chandrababu can’t deny it. If he doesn’t like the name MAVIGUN, he can name it Ayodhya or whatever he wants.” Nani said in public.

While the economic development and infrastructural reforms are being actively carried out in Amaravati, the YSRCP groups are campaigning for the MAVIGUN plan. Despite the overwhelming public mandate against three capitals proposal in 2024, YSRCP still hasn’t changed one bit.

The radical comment about announcing MAVIGUN as the capital and even changing the name to Ayodhya if needed is perhaps reflecting the unsettling nature of YSRCP’s hate towards Amaravati. The party and its leadership is doing everything in their power to defame Amaravati at every level and the consequences could continue to be catastrophic in the future as well.
