Amaravati Cases Hearing Not Before December: SC

A Supreme Court bench comprising Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Bhela M Trivedi today heard various petitions pertaining to the Amaravati Capital issue. It is known that the Apex court already announced hearing all the petitions at a time.

The lawyer representing the State Government urged an immediate hearing of this matter but the bench refused.

“We have several cases lined up for the constitutional benches until November. It is not possible to hear the case before December. So, we will hear it in December and the registry will provide a suitable date very soon,” the bench announced.

Even if the hearing begins in December, the vast subject is unlikely to finish any sooner.

That means it is pretty sure nothing will happen about the capital in this Government.

The Tamasha of Three Capitals is put on the backburner at least for now. That also marks a crucial five years term of zero activity regarding the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

It has been more than ten years of the state bifurcation. Telangana is concentrating on developing the Tier-2 cities and towns in the state but Andhra Pradesh is still undecided about its capital.
