Amaravati gets key environmental clearances!

The Environment Impact Assessment Authority (EIAA) in Chennai has cleared the Andhra Pradesh’s proposal to construct Amaravati after dismantling agricultural fields on the right bank of river Krishna. There are two more clearances which are to be secured from the AP Pollution Control Board.

It is said that EIAA’s report is enough to quash the case with National Green Tribunal. CRDA will now apply with AP Pollution Control Board seeking its consent for establishment and the consent for operation (CP). The government is hoping to get this clearance before 22nd.

Tata Consultancy Services is entrusted the task of securing environmental clearances for the capital. The capital construction falls under under category ‘B’ pollution norms, the state need not seek clearances from the Center, which is needed for category ‘A’ or highly polluting industries.
