Amaravati Issue Reaching International Stage, Will Center Interfere?

After filing a complaint with the International Court of Justice, NRIs belonging to the Amaravati region approached the United Nations Human Rights Commission in Geneva on atrocities done on farmers, women, and children at Amaravati. UNHRC reportedly took it as a special procedure.

Its high time the Central Government interferes in the issue and do justice to the farmers who have given their lands for the Capital. As of today, the Union Government is trying to play a safe game on this issue considering the political gains of the BJP.

It is known to our readers that National Commission for Women has taken suo-moto cognizance of a complaint on Twitter wherein it has alleged that Women’s Farmers were brutally beaten and throttled by AP Police during their protest against the decision to trifurcate the Capital.

A fact-finding committee toured Amaravati villages and submitted a report. There is no update whatsoever on the report or the actions that have been taken.
