After a slew of appraisals, it will go to Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs. CM Chandrababu‘s role is indelible in the Amravati ORR project. Though the initial plan was to have a 70 Mt width ORR, CM Chandrababu wrote to Nitish Gadkari saying if they wanted wider ORR in future, land acquisition would become way too costly. Hence, he proposed that 150 Mt width must be approved.

Finally, 140 Mt width has been decided. This is a first in the country as 140 Mt width hasn’t been approved elsewhere in the country.

The state government will be bearing Rs 1000 crore for the Rs 25,000 crore project. Rs 5600 crore will be spent on land acquisition. It will also bear Rs 2000 crore seigniorage charges.

Details regarding which lands can be taken in Eluru, NTR, Krishna, Palnadu and Guntur need to be finalised and report given to NHAI.

Details from Palnadu have been given. Some changes have been suggested in Eluru, while reports from other districts will be submitted within 2 weeks.
