Anakapalli MP: Too Many Probables But No Takers In YCP

Beesetti Satyavathi won as Anakapalli MP in 2019. There is a sentiment that whichever party wins Anakapalli forms the Government. Kapu, Velama, Yadava, Gavara, and Fishermen communities are dominant here.

If the Kapu candidate gets the Anakapalli assembly seat, Velama/Gavara candidates get the MP seats. All main parties follow this formula.

YSR Congress wants to field a Kapu candidate this time. Karnam Dharmasri, Avanthi Srinivas, Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, and Gudivada Amarnath are the probables.

Avanthi previously was the sitting MP in 2014-19 but is not interested this time.

Panchakarla and Karnam Dharmasri are interested to contest for Parliament itself.

Amar is interested in contesting for the MP segment but the party’s high command is keen on having his contest to the assembly. He may be the MLA candidate in Anakapalli, Pendurthi, or Yalamanchili in 2024.

It is not easy to contest from a parliament segment having to coordinate with leaders of seven MLA segments. Further, Uttarandhra YSR Congress leaders are known for lack of unity between them. So, no leader is interested to contest from Anakapalli Parliament.
