Anantapur: JC Prabhakar Reddy Given Free-Hand?

Anantapur is the stronghold of the Telugu Desam Party since its inception. But then, the results of 2019 shocked the party.

Except for Balakrishna‘s Hindupur, TDP lost in all the remaining thirteen constituencies in the erstwhile Anantapur district.

As the anti-incumbency is heaping on the current government, Chandrababu Naidu has shifted his focus on strengthening the party in Rayalaseema particularly in Anantapur.

Until a few months ago, Chandrababu confined the JC family to their own constituencies. But in a recent Zoom meeting, he said leaders can go to any constituency in the district and work for the party.

Immediately after this, JC Prabhakar Reddy arrived at the district headquarters and called for a meeting of the cadre of all constituencies.

He arranged Lunch for them and took input about how the party is doing in the constituencies. JC announced full-fledged activity in all the districts from next month.

According to party sources, recent surveys say TDP has a chance of winning ten seats if elections are held now.

The focus is on constituencies like Singanamala, Puttaparty, Kalyanadurgam, Guntakal, and Anantapur Urban where the party incharges are still inactive.
