AP and Bihar Recorded Highest GDP Growth

Surprising Findings are out by a report from CRISIL, a global analytical company. Bihar which is considered as one of the most backward states in the country and Andhra Pradesh which is severely battered by the Bifurcationled the pack among States in terms of GDP growth in financial year 2017-18, clocking 11.3% and 11.2% growth, respectively, compared with the national GDP growth of 6.7% for the year.

However, CRISIL also noted that this growth was not equitable, with the gap between the per capita incomes in low-income and high-income States widening over the last five years. This is where the central government should provide hand-holding to such states to improve their per capita incomes.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been mentioning it several times. On a different note, Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar should be appreciated for steering the states to higher growth rates despite having numerous challenges on their turf.
