Andhra Pradesh Awaits Historic Feat

Andhra Pradesh government is gearing up to begin the operation of Pattiseema Project on 6th of this month. The flood water from Godavari river will be passed in to Krishna using Polavaram Right Canal. The water thus diverted from the Project will save the Khariff Crop in 13 Lakh acres in Krishna delta.

The Krishna water thus saved will be diverted to drought hit Rayalaseema. Already the flood of Godavari is full swing due to the heavy rains in up land. Already 36 TMCs of water got wasted in to sea. Despite that, no water reached to Prakasam Barrage. Farmers are hoping that the rains will continue until Pattiseema is brought in to operation.

This is the first major river linking project in the country. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will enter in to history books with this feat. After this, The government is contemplating the interlinking of Godavari, Krishna, Penna and Paalar. If the project completes, there will be no drought in Andhra Pradesh and Chandrababu Naidu’s name will be etched for ever in the history books. However Central government’s help in such mega projects is very crucial for their execution.
